Assembling your own PC

Putting together a budget desktop PC for browsing & email.

Components that were reused -

  1. Creative speakers
  2. Dell Monitor
  3. CPU case
  4. DVD Writer
  5. SSD 120 GB drive

Newly purchased components (cost about 21k overall)

  1. Motherboard : Asus 320 MK AM4 socket link
  2. Processor : AMD Ryzen 3 1200 link
    1. Graphics card required since this does not have a GPU
  3. Graphics Card : Gigabit Nvidia 710 2 GB link
  4. RAM : Corsair Vengeance 8 GB link
  5. Power Supply : Corsair 550 Watt link
Interesting experience to put together the PC. Lots of websites that provide information on compatibility & performance benchmarks.

Each of the above items was picked based on my requirements and were carefully selected after reading reviews & going over benchmarks. Amazon best seller list helped me identify the components to research on e.g. link for motherboards.

Other shortlisted components -

  1. GIGABYTE B450M DS3H
  2. AMD Ryzen 5 2400G /
    AMD AD9600AGABBOX 7th Generation A8-9600
  3.  Asus Nvidia GeForce GT 710 2GB

OS -

Windows 10 used with the above configuration.
Waiting for Ubuntu 19.04 release on 18th Apr 2019
